Associate Producer

The Production team at StoryToys is pivotal in the production of our suite of apps. As an Associate Producer, your role is to support the creative and technical teams across an array of critical functions. You will work closely with a Lead Producer on the day-to-day running of the production pipeline. This is a role that touches on the core of games production. It is an ideal proving ground for someone aspiring to lead game production in the future. You will have responsibility for everything from asset management, production scheduling, and release support. You will acquire insight into the company’s commercial imperatives while being sensitive to the needs of our audience. You will support flagship product development and project management, team communications and reporting. You will also be creative.

This role is critical in shaping our award-winning children’s apps and supporting the teams that make them. This is a cross-disciplinary role with ample room for skill-building and growth. Who are we? 

StoryToys is a Top-Ten children’s app creator, delivering a suite of apps for children between the ages of  2 and 8. We work with the world’s biggest entertainment IP, translating their loved characters to a digital world. We publish worldwide, in 26 languages with monthly active users in the millions. We are based in Dublin, Ireland but work with a large global team.

You are first and foremost a problem solver. As an excellent communicator, you do your utmost to create the best environment for success for the team and the product. This role will provide deep experience in game production across production processes, people management, and product and market data.

You will work closely with the production team to realise production goals. As an astute observer, you will understand and predict where issues may arise for the team and production, and work with the lead producer to mitigate these risks.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Be a key driver of a product’s success. You will enable production of the highest quality.
  • You will provide clear and open communication on the project across all levels.
  • Manage core production functions and processes.
  • Surface, assess, and resolve complex production problems, suggest alternatives.
  • Mitigate risk with a high level of anticipation and proactiveness (quality & scheduling risk management).
  • Collaborate to develop creative ideas, whether for content, processes, or tools.
  • Report on all aspects of the production process.
  • Support prompt and clear communication with our publishing partners on any production needs.
  • Oversee asset management including providing licensee partners with digital assets.
  • Support the Lead Producer to ensure scheduling is clear and budgets are tracked.
  • Collaborate with the Global Brand, Marketing & PR and legal teams on product approvals.
  • Work with Customer Support to assess audience concerns and coordinate with teams as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate scheduling and communication with a distributed global team across multiple time zones.
  • Implement clear processes that drive strong relationships and good results.
  • Look for continuous improvement.
  • Act as the ultimate diplomat, aligning teams towards common goals.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 2-3 years as an associate producer role or tangential role, QA, Art Creation, Animation, Engineering.
  • Video game Production, Design or QA experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management abilities; capable of prioritizing and balancing multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints.
  • Results-oriented problem solver with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity whilst providing clear direction and goals to the team.
  • A quick learner that enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Comfortable implementing different methodologies adaptive to the teams and goals, with a strong understanding of SCRUM and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in planning and collaborating via an array of planning techniques.
  • Fluent in Jira, Excel.
  • Proven track of strong decision making and critical skills, under tight deadlines.
  • Can lead by influence.

 

NICE TO HAVE

  • A love of classic and new children’s media and understanding of what children enjoy.
  • Experience in shipping titles and/or live operations of at least 2 titles, across multiple platforms.
  • Experience managing large features or bodies of work outsourced with a vendor.

 

We have a beautiful office space in the heart of Dublin city, however remote working can be facilitated where appropriate.
